DIY: Cropping a Jacket

Posted by Rose Jollands fashion blogger

Shortening a coat or jacket can be easy and gives it a fresh look.

Decide where you'd like the new hem line to be.

We're just cutting across above the pockets here.

Straight round the back, through the lining as well.

Now to deal with the raw edges.

Just roll over the edges twice, including the lining and stitch down.....if it's very thick fabric just once will do.

This is the top side and looks fairly neat.

To finish we've added some different buttons from another coat....there's plenty of room for more creative additions, just whatever you fancy!
