How you've helped stock Oxfam's emergency warehouse

It has been cold, wet and wintery, so what better pick-me-up than a team outing? This week the Oxfam campaigns team took a trip to Bicester, shunning the outlet village in favour of Oxfam's emergency warehouse.
This is where the initial work of disaster response happens. As we approached the warehouse we were struck by the fact that it was a much smaller building, and home to a much smaller team, than we initially imagined would be needed to deal with the large-scale disasters that Oxfam responds to. But the space was positively brimming with all the kit you could imagine might be needed for both long-term aid and emergency relief - from stickers to a £100,000 drilling rig.
Our tour guide and warehouse pro, Bob, led us through the stacks of emergency equipment while charming us with anecdotes and stories, and explaining just how much thought and passion goes into each product. For example, he showed us how something as simple as a bucket has been painstakingly designed and redesigned - from the lid to the ridges on the base - to ensure that it will last for years and be as efficient as possible no matter where in the world it is shipped to.
