Calling festival lovers everywhere

Posted by Naomi Davey Manchester volunteer

Oxfam has had a fantastic summer campaigning at the biggest and best festivals, including some fantastic boutique festivals.

And even though it's only August some music journo types are now talking about the festival season coming to an end...

But fear not fellow festival lovers - Oxfam is proud to announce their wonderful partnership with the Ramsbottom festival!

We'll be ending the festival season in style in the heart of Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester 14-16 September at the Ramsbottom Cricket Club.

Only 12 miles from Manchester city centre, great acts like Inspiral Carpets  and I am Kloot  will make some joyful noise for our campaigns team.

Plus you'll be able to enjoy a host of tasty foodie delights as well as delicious real ales from local brewers.

But what are we asking you to do?

The  GROW Food Power campaign

One billion people don't have enough to eat. We can change that, for good. But we need to change the way we make, store and eat food.

Oxfam is recruiting volunteer campaigners for the Ramsbottom festival to help spread the word and gain support for the ace GROW Food Power campaign!

GROW is Oxfam's campaign for food justice, which promotes better ways to grow, share, and live together.

From growing your own veg to joining local co-ops, to drinking vegan beer, there's a million ways to promote sustainable food. These small changes locally make big waves globally. They can lead to a world where everyone has enough to eat.

For more on the GROW Food Power campaign, check out food power and GROW.

We are looking for impassioned campaigners to talk to festival-goers all over the Ramsbottom festival site about the GROW Food Power Campaign.

Does food for all sound up your street? Up to the challenge of campaigning at a great festival? Then please get in touch with Naomi on

Don't fancy campaigning this time? No sweat - you can still make a difference..

The wonderful folks at the Ramsbottom festival will kindly donate £1 from each ticket sold to Oxfam!

Everyone deserves to have enough to eat. Act now.
