Come and Campaign at Common People
Kate Harvey Festivals Marketing and Engagement Assistant
22nd May 2017
It's hard to believe festival season is so nearly upon us, where has this year gone? We're all very busy in the office, working hard to have everything ready for the summer ahead and we hope your own festival prep is all going well - welly boots at the ready!
We're heading to Common People Festival this weekend (27-28 May) and could really do with some more volunteers. Common People takes place in South Park, Oxford.
We aren't stewarding, so we want you to come and campaign with us there. Whether you're a veteran campaigner or want to try it for the first time, this is a great opportunity to help us inspire festival goers to get involved with Oxfam's work.
It's not a major time commitment, as it's a 2 day festival, but *it will still count towards your priority status,* in combination with stewarding at another festival (see the current priority rule). Here are the key details:
• We will need you to volunteer for 1 day only, leaving you with a day free to enjoy the rest of the festival!
• As this is only a 2 day event, there is no camping on-site. Ideal if you're local, or have friends to stay with nearby.
• As usual, you'll be provided with a meal ticket for your shift.
Check out their full line-up. You can throw it back to 2003 on Saturday, reliving that summer anthem with Sean Paul, then don't miss the man himself, Pete Tong on Sunday!
For more information about what campaigning involves, check out the campaigning pages on our website. If you've already applied this year as a steward, please remember you'll need to have ticked the box for 'interested in campaigning' as well as 'interested in stewarding' in the first part of the application form, before you'll be able to see Common People as an option to apply. Just return via the Volunteer login screen and add that in the 'edit your details' section. If you need help with your application, you can also email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Can't wait to see you there!
