Oxfam is opening a new Books and Music shop in Bishops Stortford at the end of July 2019

If you are passionate about retail and customer service, you can turn your passion into action and join us as a founder member of this volunteer team.

Our aim is to make as much money as possible to support Oxfam's crucial lifesaving work around the world.

Providing volunteering work experience for our local community will be paramount to the success of this new shop.

We will aim to build a team of enthusiastic volunteers who will enjoy the challenge of establishing the new shop.

The shop will open seven days a week.

There are volunteer roles for everyone whatever your skills and interests! You could volunteer to: be the welcoming face providing customer service on the shop floor; enjoy a treasure hunt to find the collectables in the donations generously donated by our local community; provide excellent administrative support; use your attention to detail to help manage the financial returns; express your creativity by helping with visual merchandising; utilise your IT skills to develop online sales; apply your talents for enthusing others by becoming a shift leader. The opportunities are endless.

  • Supporting the shop's volunteer recruitment plans
  • Carrying out weekly administration for finance and/or health and safety

No experience required but you should have a willingness to learn and an enthusiasm to share your own skills.
