Tax and income finance volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer to join our busy Tax and Income Team. This role can be performed either remotely (UK only) or at our office based in Oxford. The minimum requirement is 1 day per week and this volunteer position is expected to last approximately 12 months.

This role offers flexible working and can be adapted to the individual’s needs. We will provide you with ongoing support and training throughout your volunteering including full induction and health and safety.

What are your key responsibilities?

  • Financial posting of Engagement income through cashbooks and supporter database.
  • Work closely with programme funding teams to identify and account for Institutional Income receipts in line with accounting policies and restricted income requirements.
  • Reconciliation of supporter database to cash book/general ledger.
  • Reconciliation of general ledger to bank statements.
  • Processing of other ad-hoc income as well as banking corrections and income returns.
  • Apply financial policies and procedures (training will be provided).
  • Identify and implement opportunities to continuously improve processes.

  • Previous experience in a finance or related role
  • Good basic numeracy (essential)
  • Good attention to detail (essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, particularly in Excel
  • Willingness to learn

  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
