Hardcover album (bound in light green silk, with gold lettering, in protective plastic sleeve), published in Beijing, containing 55 exquisite tipped-in colour plates of famous landscape and wildlife paintings of the northern and southern Song/Sung period (960-1279 AD). Originally published with 60 tipped-in plates on card pages, but 5 pages are missing (plates 2, 12, 33, 35, 44). The album contains (in English) a Table of Contents (numbers, titles, artists) and a one-page Synopsis. There are also (in Chinese) 12 pages of short annotations (by Zhang Heng) for all of the paintings.

CONDITION: ...The attractive green silk-bound cover (in protective transparent sleeve), with clean and bright gilt Chinese lettering to front and spine, is in good condition with just some and light shelf-wear to top edge. The 55 lovely tipped-in colour prints are all in very good, bright and clean condition. The album leaves (of which 5 are missing) are all in clean and bright condition.
