Alphonse Blomme (1889-1979) "Leontes" Etching Signed

£100.00

Product description

Alphonse Blomme (Belgium 1889-1979) "Leontes" portrait Etching, Signed. Framed approx 39cm x 42cm. Circa 1930?

The artist Alfons Blomme (1889-1979) first studied in Roeselare and then in Brussels, where he came into contact with the great modern styles. There he was also influenced by Emile Claus and later by surrealism. Alfons Blomme, like many artists, stayed in The Netherlands during the First World War. He mostly built a name for himself in-between the two World Wars when he lived in The Hague and was friends, for a short while, with the famous Albert Einstein, whom he portrayed. Blomme was a celebrated artist and was also popular with a lot of collectors. His work is quite virtuoso and uplifting.

Oxfam Shop Hampstead

Situated in a prime position in Hampstead Village, Oxfam Hampstead has been on this site since 1991. It was recently refurbished and we have around 30 volunteers but are always looking for new people, especially those who have experience in running an online shop. We are also looking for people who wish to gain retail experience and help sort our donations.

We stock a wide range of Fairtrade ecologically sourced and eco-friendly products, as well as a fantastic variety of donated goods, including an excellent women's clothing section with many designer labels. In the homeware section you can always find that special thing you are looking for. Not to forget the popular children's section where we have a wide selection of toys and children's clothes. Our unique selections of bespoke art works and jewellery are some of the best throughout Oxfam.

Once visited one is compelled to return time and again - in fact many of our regular customers visit every day in case they miss something!

Good quality donations including women's clothing, accessories, men's clothing, homewares, children's clothes, toys, jewellery, music and art work are all very welcome.

The shop is able to offer Gift Aid on donations and operates the 'tag a bag' scheme.
