A comprehensive and detailed account of the life, military and political careers, campaigns and character of the famous general and statesman which, in the author's words, "derives great advantages from being written after his death".

Marbled red/brown board covers with leather trim. Title "Life of Wellington" embossed in gold on red on spine. Engraved title pages with vignettes.
Numerous engraved illustrations of statesmen, military men and plans of battles and military campaigns. Covers worn and corners bumped; spines also worn with some fraying towards top. Foxing and discolouration to pages commensurate with age but overall clean and tight copies.

Incurs additional carriage charge as the two volumes together weigh over 2 kilos.
