J.M. Dent & Sons Ltd., E.P. Dutton & Co., London and New York, 1929. Hardback. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Lewis Carroll (illustrator). 335 pages. Hardback with scarlet covers and gilt lettering to spine, in very good condition with minor bumping to head and tail of spine and lower corners. Light discolouration to very ends of spine. A few grubby marks along top edge of rear board. Text block edges coloured green. Jacket in good condition, with chipping to top and bottom of spine and edgewear along top. Dustjacket lightly tanned overall, heavily tanned and grubby on spine, but green lettering of title of Everyman motif and number still clearly visible. Light foxing to pastedowns. Creasing and dog-eared at corners between pages 71-100. Interior clear, bright and unmarked. Dedication to previous owner on ffep in navy ink and dated 1929. Title within ornamental border. Introduction by E.R. (Ernest Rhys) - this also contains life and bibliography of Lewis Carroll. The first library edition of this work by Everyman, and no. 836 of the Everyman Library. Contents: Alice's adventures in Wonderland --Through the looking-glass -- Phantasmagoria --The hunting of the snark -- A tangled tale.
