Third edition, edited by Samuel Hopgood Hart, published by John M. Watkins in 1913. Anna Kingsford was one of the first English women to obtain a degree in medecine and was an anti-vivisection, vegetarian and women's rights campaigner. Interested in Buddhism and Gnosticism, and became president of the London Lodge of the Theosophical Society in 1883. Illustrated with portraits, views and facsimiles.
