This book, published in India, looks at the history and improvement, including sanitation issues, of the Ghats in Benares.
It includes many photographs and diagrams.
The hardback cover is little worn and stained but in good condition for the age of the book. The binding is in good condition other than being slightly loose between the copyright and next page. The pages are in good clean condition except that the frontispiece map has stuck to the first page of the preface near the binding and there is a slight tear. There is a name dated '44 inside the front.
First printed 1931.
