Beverly Gray, Sophomore

£19.99

Product description

The 'Beverly Gray College Mystery Series' were in the American tradition of lengthy series about a single character (usually female), and ran to at least 14 titles - quite probably more. Aimed quite obviously at young women, they were clearly very popular, and most of the available second-hand copies nowadays will be found on American bookselling sites.

Clarissa Mabel Blank (1915-1998) was an American author, writer of the Beverly Gray mystery series and four other novels. The first four books in the Beverly Gray appeared just a year after she left high school in 1933 - she was a published author at the age of 18.

Our copy is rare in the UK, and in generally good condition for its age. The dust jacket is present, but has suffered considerable wear & tear, with actual loss in some places. IThe book itself is bound in blue boards with a 'leatherette'-style finish; titles etc in darker blue lettering on the front and spine. There is some staining externally, some signs of wear (top & bottom of spine, bumped corners), and 3 pinholes near the bottom L/H side of the front cover. Inside, however, the binding is firm and all pages clean but badly browned. A previous owner's name (also Beverly!) is written in biro at the top of the front fep.
