Cover, in dark green, chamfered cloth boards with gilt titling and decoration to front, is in good condition for its age with light shelfwear, a little rubbing to spine extremities and a shelfwear related mark to front. Internally, the book is in generally decent condition for its age with some foxing, especially to page block edges and a neat pen inscription on reverse of frontispiece Front hinge has split and partially detached, ditto rear hinge but to lesser extent and still substantially attached. Otherwise, binding is firm throughout. Attractive Naval and Military Printing offices, Portsmouth green and black bookplate on reverse of rear free endpaper. A charming and attractively bound and illustrated little Isle of Wight guidebook which is still very sound and usable for its 146 years.
