"Brit Bits" is a limited edition book, handwritten and drawn by Chris Price and Delisia Howard. From its trianglular shape to the artwork, the stories, the foil, mylar and tissue interleaves, and the hand-printed covers, including inky thumb prints that atmospherically add to the back cover close-up illustration of a heraldic unicorn, it is opinionated and witty about all things British. Howard (perfect size-10 model and former Biba buyer) writes, and her husband Chris Price illustrates. Both have signed the book's colophon page, on which it is clearly numbered number 9 of 400.
Chris Price and Delisia Howard are principally known for their recent publication celebrating Biba's 40th anniversary: "In Biba: a Graphic Romance". They have also published "Lost Wax: Lonely London Statues" (2008)
Our copy is in generally good condition, its paper-covered illustrated triangular boards clean and the black spine covering undamaged. Bottom corners are a little worn. The binding is tight, so that it is quite difficult to view whole pages, but all appear clean and unmarked. There are many interleaved pages of (variously) coloured foil, mylar, tissue and thin coloured paper. The colophon is signed by Chris Price (red felt marker) and Delisa Howard (blue-black ink), and the book's number '9' is prominent in blue felt tip. A rare curiosity.
