British Calendar Customs - England - Three Volumes

£95.00

Product description

Volume 1: Movable Festivals, Volume II: Fixed festivals Jan – May, Volume III: Fixed festivals June – December.

All three are hardback with brown cloth covered boards. There is a black linear design on the front and gilt lettering to spine. Gilt monogram of the Folk Lore Society on the front of each. All are ex-library books with the book plate of the British Council on the reverse of the front cover and a stamp on the ffep and opposite the preface, but there are, mercifully, no other remnants of its library background apart from accession numbers on the lower part of the spine cover. Some black and white photographs and illustrations.

There are some small areas of bleaching on the outside of vols I and III. The binding is firm with little evidence of wear. Vol III is slightly grubby. All show signs of foxing throughout.

This three volume set is somewhat bulky and additional postal costs may need to be negotiated.
