This rare book, dating from 1975, contains 484 full-page B/W photographs by Jesper Høm and Sven Gronlykke, with not a single word of explanation or description - the reader is thus invited to make his own assessment of each. A critic wrote: "With the exception of the title and copyright information, there is absolutely no writing in this simple publication designed for children. A picture book playing with, and counting on, education by association. Almost five hundred pages long, the book encourages questions and explanations, educating the "reader" by leaving wide space for interpretation. All photographs are printed full-bleed. The printing quality is poor, as is the paper, but it is exactly this which adds a raw charm to the book. It is quite difficult to find a copy in good condition as, being a child`s book, they have usually been "loved" to bits. I certainly fell in love with this, surprisingly underrated, book at first sight."
Our copy is a first Danish edition, first printing, copy, and in good condition for its age. Although produced on poor-quality paper in a glued binding, there is only one actual loose leaf (comprising 4 pages), and another which is 'hanging on in there'. The outer cover is somewhat worn and a little creased with small blemishes; the spine in particular shows crease marks along its length. All pages are a little browned, particularly at the edges - but as a whole, the book remains in good condition.
