Cicero's De Officiis ad Marcum Filium (Latin) - 1773

£95.00

Product description

De Officiis is a treatise written by Marcus Tullius Cicero divided into three books, in which Cicero expounds his conception of the best way to live, behave, and observe moral obligations. The original text was written in Latin in 44BC not long before Cicero's death.

A hard back, miniature, leather bound 1773 edition of Cicero's De Officiis. The burgundy cover is complimented by subtle gold gilt edged pages. It is in very good condition considering its age, there is slight damage to the bottom of the spine and some minor foxing. The book's pages are tightly bound and the text is clear and unaffected by any browning. There are some pencil markings on the first page but these do not infringe on any text. It is an ornate, rare and well preserved little book.
