Publisher: Oliphant Anderson & Ferrier, Edinburgh and London, 1900. Hardback, 192 pages, many full page b&w illustrations. The attractive art nouveau cover in olive cloth boards with gilt titling to spine, white titling to front and blue and gilt decorations to front and spine, is in good / very good condition for its age with just a little bumping to spine extremities. Internally the book is in good, clean, clear and firm condition. Some foxing to endpapers and pages very lightly tanned commensurate with age. The text pages and the many delightful b&w full page illustrations are in nice, clean condition and the binding is tight throughout. Neat prize for attendance label (for 1918) is fixed to front endpaper. A little surface fraying on front endpaper. A delightful story set in the Scottish Highlands book with unusual illustrated cover and lovely illustrations.
