Name stamped on bottom of back free end-papers. Engraved frontispiece. Highly decorated main title page. Illustrated with steel and wood engravings and maps, some coloured. Some engravings cut to fit with loss of caption. Restricted foxing. Tanning throughout. Binding mostly tight but threads sometimes visible. 524 pages. Some pages loose. Plate facing page 92 cut. Bottom of plate facing page 322 torn. Plate facing page 406 only attached at bottom. There may be other defects.

The Oxfam Books and Music shop in Belper is opposite the Ritz Cinema on the lively and varied King Street. We are just a short walk from the bus and railway stations and from ample free parking at The Coppice (through the Market Square).

The shop has been newly fitted out and is light and spacious - the perfect place to browse our book and music sections. Our extensive book stock covers everything from fiction to specialist. The music section caters for all tastes and includes vinyl, CDs, sheet music and small musical instruments.. We also stock DVDs.

Everything we sell is donated by the generous people of Belper and the surrounding area. We are always looking for new stock and your donations would be welcome.
