Heidelberg [1846 Edition]

£24.99

Product description

Copryright Edition published in 1846 by Bernhard Tauchnitz, Leipzig. Text in English. Maroon leather binding with gilt spine lettering, decorative spotted red dye to page edges.

This is number 108 (CVIII) of a series entitled 'British Authors' and was first published in one volume in 1846. It tells the story of Algernon Grey in Heidelberg. it is an interesting and well written story told in a Victorian style.

The author, George Payne Rainsford James (1799 – 860), was an English novelist and historical writer, the son of a physician in London. He was for many years British Consul at various places in the United States and on the Continent.

There is a small amount of foxing on the end papers and a little light wear to the extremities of the covers. However the internal pages are generally in a good clean condition and the binding is sound and still tight. Overall in almost very good condition..
