Helen Keller Under the Southern Cross: rare, signed copy

£14.99

Product description

The pale green cloth binding is faded round the edges and the head of the spine is discoloured. The title, author and publisher are clearly imprinted on the spine. The dust jacket is worn, with fraying along the edges and a tear on the lower front edge. The front jacket flap is detached from the dust jacket. On the front free end paper is an inscription from the author. The frontispiece photograph is detached and its edges are frayed. The page edges of the book are tanned but the text is clear and in good condition. The photographs at the rear of the book are in very good condition. The front and rear hinges are secure.
This book, about one of the best-known women of the world, describes a miracle story of her victory over blindness and deafness. While touring South Africa in 1951 Keller wrote of her impressions of the country. The author, Blaxall, has written an outline of her whole life, striving in the service of suffering humanity.
