Product description

Highways and Byways in Hampshire
D H Moutray Read
Illustrations by Arthur B Connor
Macmillan and Co, Limited, London, 1928; 1st edition 1908, reprinted 1919, 1928.
Hardback; 140 x 200 mm; dark blue boards with gold titles on spine and front cover; xx & 444 pages, top edge painted blue. No dust jacket. Numerous illustrations in monochrome and a fold out map of Hampshire.
The book is in good condition. The binding is sound. A little bumping to the covers and ends of the spine. The remnant of a small square label on the back cover. A little tanning internally with pencil marks “HB” and “7/6” on the front paste-down endpaper. The odd mark here and there internally.
The author covers the various parts of the county in detail presenting a picture of the area as it was over 100 years ago. It is likely to appeal to those with an interest in the area, or living in the county, from an historical perspective.
