Product description

A very rare, collectable book. First edition. 1948. Overall in good condition. No dustjacket. Grey cloth cover has some staining, fading and some rubbing along the spine. Previous owner's name inside front cover. Inside pages good and generally clean, with a few grubby marks, and showing some signs of browning. This book does have a slight musty smell.

This book contains the experience and suggestions in site planning and house design of Mr Walter Segal, an architect known for his work on housing, with which he had been associated both as a practitioner and theorist for some 15 years at that time. The book includes numerous plans and diagrams, including ideas which must have been in advance at the time - planning for the motor car, houses with flexible living space, planning for heat and hot water.
