Publisher: Hodder and Stoughton, London, 1906. Hardback, 128 pages, 25 tissue guarded full page colour plates by Birket Foster, no dustjacket. Cover, in red cloth boards with gilt titling to front and spine, is in fair to good condition commensurate with age, with fading to spine and back cover, shelfwear to edges, bumping and fraying to spine extremities, light bumping to corners and a few light fading areas to front. Internally, the book is in fair to good condition commensurate with age with generally clean and bright text pages and illustrations. Hinges are weak at front and rear endpapers with exposed binding, otherwise the book is firm throughout. Tanning and foxing to endpapers with a few small foxing spots here and there through the book. The 25 superb, tissue-guarded and laid-on colour plates by Birket Foster are in very good and clean condition. Owners stamp to ffep and half-title page. Lovely decorated title page and interesting preface and Introduction plus extensive biographical and artist notes on Birket Foster. A lovely, sumptuous and beautifully illustrated old book.
