Italian Food by Elizabeth David

£300.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

1987 collector's edition first published by Barrie & Jenkins Ltd. London. Tissue protected dedication: Number 36 (of 50) signed copies sponsored by Garrick Foods Limited, 1988.

Clipped jacket is a little shabby with light chipping to all edges, some sunning to spine slightly marked by less than kind treatment. Cover illustration of a local belladonna offering her many fruits in the Italian countryside. Grey cloth boards lightly sunned at top and tail where jacket has slipped. Grey titles on spine. Grey paste downs followed by unmarked title page and then the dedication page, which has a crease in the tissue guard.

The spine has become weakened, leaving the boards somewhat loose to the touch.

Block is fine - lavishly illustrated with delightful images of rustic Italian life: mosaics of swimming fish, herbs, meat and game, dreamy still life scenes and the occasional old master.

The numerous mouthwatering dishes are simply described and approachable to the amateur chef. All in all a wonderful book, to be stored well away from the busy kitchen.

Oxfam Bookshop Market Harborough

Oxfam is the UK's largest second hand bookseller. Oxfam bookshops offer a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to more specialist subjects, classics, and rare or collectable books. We also stock an attractive range of greetings cards and a good selection of stationery. Come and browse!

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
