Jenny Villiers : A Story of the Theatre - J B Priestley (1947, First Edition)

£9.99

Product description

First edition published in 1947 by William Heinemann Ltd.

One of J B Priestley's classic works set in the world of the theatre. The text is illustrated with drawings by M Elaine Hancock.

A successful but dispirited playwright is supervising the rehearsals of his new play, The Glass Door, at an old theatre in North England. The actors are irritated by his cynical attitude, but when left alone in the darkened green room he experiences visions of a 19th-century tragedy which alter his outlook on his profession.

There are inscriptions in the front reading: 'M T Julian Christmas 1947, J D Weager'.

Complete with original dust jacket which has not been price-clipped. There is a small amount of wear and small tears on the jacket which also has some foxing. Apart from foxing on the end papers and cut edges of the pages the internal pages are generally in a good clean condition. Binding fairly tight and sound.
