Described in the introduction: 'The object of this book is to give descriptions of some of the historical and antiquarian features of typical places on both sides of the Thames in the Goring district; river-side places, the Downland, and the South Chiltern country.' Illustrated with black & white photographs and drawings.

The board covers are a bit marked and grubby and the internal hinge is cracked along the front end paper. Pages are generally clean and the binding is sound.
