Marks and monograms on pottery and porcelain of the renaissance and modern periods; with historical notices of each manufactory preceded by an introductory essay on the vasa fictlla of England, of the Roman-British and medieval eras. By William Chaffers 1872. 777 pages. There is a gilt motif on the front cover and spine over green boards. The cover is considerably worn. There is a lot of shelf wear, rubbing and marks. There are significant tears to the spine which has been sellotaped in an attempt to repair it. The binding of this book is very loose and needs to be handled with care. The rear cover is almost completely detached from the spine. The book is considerably tanned throughout. There is some minor foxing on the front end pages and to the page block edge. Generally, however, the book is in a good condition commensurate with age. Internally there are numerous illustrations throughout which are clean and bright. Of interest to those who are interested in porcelain and pottery.
