Condition used very good commensurate with age. Blue boards with gold lettering, some bumping to edges and spine, no dj, some yellowing of pages which appear unfinished, foxing to edges. Two illustrations one a portrait of Charles James Fox and the other an illustration of the club 'in the olden time'.

Compiled from the records of the club, members of Brooks's from 1764 to 1900 are listed along with their proposer and seconder, date of election and some biographical notes. Includes a preface, introduction and appendices. The club that was to become Brooks's was founded in March 1764 by twenty-seven prominent Whig nobles, Charles James Fox was elected as a member the following year at the age of sixteen.
