£55.00

Product description

Algiers Mission Band and North Africa Mission, Highgate. Third edition 1964. pp36

Modest volume 18 x 13cm in simple beige cloth boards with moderate shelf wear and a celtic wheel and cross graphic and lettering "Mors Janua Vigae"- death is the doorway to life. Blank paste downs.

The author was the founder of the Algiers Mission Band and her book modestly describes itself as a Christian classic. "A slim volume when compared to Augustine and Boheme etc etc but in this realm quantity is insignificant . . . the discerning will notice that the timeless and universal quality of its appeal resides in its message."

Lovely colour floral watercolours adorn many facing pages. Paper quality is very good with a pleasing sheen to all pages. A staple (now removed) was at some time or other impaled through the last page.

Most of the second-hand items you see online have been donated, by supporters like you, to our high street stores. Each item is then priced, photographed and listed on this site by our amazing team of volunteers from across the country.

After you have bought your item, our team of volunteers package and dispatch it from the Shop straight to you or your chosen recipient.

All profits from the sales of our goods go towards funding Oxfam's work around the world. We rely on your donations to sell online so please keep the cycle of goodness going!

Oxfam Bookshop Market Harborough

Oxfam is the UK's largest second hand bookseller. Oxfam bookshops offer a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to more specialist subjects, classics, and rare or collectable books. We also stock an attractive range of greetings cards and a good selection of stationery. Come and browse!

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
