Beginning with the arrival of Brutus, the grandson of Aeneas, the history quickly encompasses the romantic past of the area, before beginning in earnest in the 13th century.

Plymouth was a maritime and naval centre in England from the earliest times. It is located in the South West of the country of Devon, and is possessed of a large natural harbour.

With beautiful illustrations both of the local area and of naval subjects.

Book has light and dark blue boards with dark blue pastedowns and endpapers.Gilt lettering to the spine and front board.Most of the spine has broken away and the parts are retained inside the book.All surfaces have heavy wear with severe bumping to all corners.Front and rear boards are loose but still holding.Heavy tanning to the end papers and heavy foxing to the tissue protective pages.All other pages are clean but with the odd tanning mark.Pages are still securely bound.A completely readable copy with clear illustrations. Printed in 1900, first edition. Book is heavy at 2.72 kgs, so will attract courier delivery rate of £8.00.
