Poems by Sir Walter Scott

£100.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

This book was published in 1863 by William P. Nimmo of Edinburgh. This book is without a dust jacket. The boards are a read leather with gilt decoration on the front, back and spine. There is also the title of the book on the spine. The corners of the boards and top and bottom of the spine have been lightly bumped. The boards show some wear from use. The spine has a blue and white headband. There is a blue ribbon book mark bound into the book. The edges of the pages have been gilt, the gilding is still bright with a few marks. The inside of the front board a bookplate that has been stuck in. There is an inscription on the front free end paper from a previous owner with roman numerals which date it to 1865. The frontispiece is clear with light spotting to the page, although this does not affect the image. There are various black and white illustrations through out the book done by Keeley Halswelle. The pages throughout are clean and readable with no tears or folds. The hinge is tight, due to the hinge being tight not many scans were taken of the pages towards the centre of the book, this is so not to cause any damage to the binding.
