Poems of Passion

£14.99

Product description

The miniature book, believed to be early-20th century, contain a collection of mainly short poems about love and passion by Ella Wilcox. The book is bound in thin, brown card, doubled for the covers, with a coloured picture of a stylised peacock inside a red and green floral border on the front and a brown and blue cartouche inside a similar floral border on the back. The title and author in mainly red script appear on the front and the title in red script on the plain brown spine.
The covers are complete but show some wear at the edges and some local rubbing and brown staining to the back. The binding is complete and all pages and covers appear to be fully attached. The pages appear to be free from damage and clean apart from a dedication in blue ink, dated "Jan. 23rd 1922" on the front free end-paper.

Oxfam Bookshop Lymington

Lymington is on the South coast, bordering on the New Forest National Park which was created as a Royal Forest in 1079 by William the Conqueror, and first recorded as 'Nova Foresta' in the Doomsday Book in 1086. Our Oxfam Shop at 73, The High Street is in a lovely Georgian building, the tallest in Lymington. The elegant Georgian buildings lining the wide main street were built mostly for merchants in the local salt trade. The famous Saturday market brings the town to life with its variety of stalls. The area is renowned for outdoor pursuits, including camping, sailing, windsurfing, and surfing, as well as forest walks and horse riding.
