xviii 196+(1) pages, 38 page adverts, illustrations with 5 folding plates, 6 single pages and text illustrations, 124 illustrations of forms and diagrams for manufacture and exhibition. Bound in full blue cloth covered boards with black and gilt decoration to both the cover and spine. A scarce title on the making of fireworks, only one copy located at the British Library. First edition believed to be 1871.

Condition: The cloth covered boards are worn at the head and tail of the spine through to the card below, corners heavily worn and turned, fraying of the edges of the boards all intact. pastedown has a split in the paper showing the cloth under to front and back, title page is cropped off about 1/3rd absent and is tanned. Interior pages are quite clean and crisp with some very minor yellowing, one loose page. All pullouts intact, binding sound.
