£30.00

Product description

Publisher: William Heinemann Ltd, Melbourne, London, Toronto, 1955. Hardback with unclipped dustjacket, 284 pages. Cover, in red cloth boards with gilt titling to spine, is in good condition with a trace of shelfwear to lower edges. Internally the book is in generally good, bright, clean and tight condition commensurate with age. Some foxing spots to page block edges and light tanning to endpapers. Some small top corner creases to a few of the later pages. The pictorial dustjacket, which is not price clipped (and shows a price of 12s 6d net), is in fair to good condition with a little shelfwear / rubbing to edges, a couple of tears (without loss) at foot of spine, some slight 'nibbling' to top edge of spine and a small stain mark to front. A decent 1st edition copy with dustjacket of this classic and romantic WW2 novel by the celebrated author of A Town Like Alice and On the Beach.
