Round the Coast

£49.99

Product description

Round the Coast: an album of pictures from photographs of the chief seaside places of interest in Great Britain and Ireland 1895. A historical text that captures Britain and Ireland's seaside towns, beaches and coasts. The book contains a great collection of photographs depicting the English and Irish seaside in the late 1800's. All images are complimented by descriptions giving facts and figures about the towns at the time the book was published. Round the Coast provides a look into British and Irish history and is a window to a bygone era.

This attractive, large burgundy hardcover was published in 1895. The gilt text and an ornate boarder really make this a stunning book. The spine has clear signs of ageing as the leather has begun to crumble away from the spine and is patchy in places. Despite this, the pages are well-bound and sturdy. Inside the first 3 pages which contain publisher details and the introduction etc have become detached. The images and text are unmarked and clear, the book remains in good condition despite its few flaws and old age!
