This book was published in 1903 by Williams and Norgate, the boards are black with decorative boarders on the front and back. There is text in gold on the spine of the book, there is no text on the front board. The boards show some signs of wear, this includes rubbing from handling to both the front, back and spine. The corners of the boards and top and bottom of the spine have been bumped. There are various small holes in the cloth covering around the edges of the boards and the spine. there are two splits where the front board meets the spine, one at the top which measures 20mm approximately and the one at the bottom measures 10mm approximately. The edges of the pages are tanned but clean, there is some foxing/ tanning to the front and back end-papers, the pages show signs of use but are generally bright and clean with clear readable text. There are no rips, tears or folds to the pages. The webbing is showing at the join of the boards to the spine at the back of the book, this is on the inside of the boards between the back end papers.
