The Artistic Side of Photography : In Theory and Practice [1910]

£150.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

Published in 1910 by Stanley Paul & Co. A scarce book.

Both a discussion and treatise on how to take and compose photographs. The author, A J Anderson, first discusses whether photographs can be considered as art, and follows this with chapters on different techniques. It includes some 28 examples of photographs the majority of which a protected by plastic sheets, together with diagrams and drawings in the text.

A fascinating book for those interested in the techniques and history of photography.

There is an inscription on the inside front cover dated Christmas 1910.

The cover is fairly worn especially on the corners and spine, with some splitting along the internal hinge of the front board. However, internally the pages are in a clean condition, although yellowed, and the binding seems sound. Overall in reasonable condition.
