The Ballet Annual 2

£350.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

A Record and Year book of the Ballet. Edited by Arnold L. Haskell, second issue. 1948. The book was donated by the estate of John Percival, dance critic for the Times, and other publications. It is signed by 19 different ballet dancers/personnel from 1948. Signatures include: Leslie Caron, Nathalie Philippart, Youly Algaroff, Youra Loboff, Jean Guelis, David Lichine, Helene Sadovska, Tatiana Riabouchinska, Jean Babilee, Boris Kochno, Serge Perrault, Roland Petit, Helene Constantine, Celina de Vries and Renee Jeanmaire. Several more signatures are indecipherable, but may yield to someone in the ballet field. Several of the dancers also signed their photographs in the book, some more than once. There is a previous owner's name on the top inside of the front right board, Louise G. Merrill, and a Foyles Bookseller's sticker on the lower part of the page.

The book lacks its dust jacket but is in good condition. It contains numerous black and white photos, one colour photo frontispiece and several black and white drawings.
