The Book of the Home - Volume 3

£9.99

Product description

The Book of the Home was published by The Gresham Publishing Company in the early 1900s. This volume is part of a series dated approximately 1909, written under the editorial guidance of Mrs C. E. Humphry, one of the first female journalists in Britain.

Bound in decorated turquoise cloth with an embossed gilt pattern and a vignette in black and gilt surrounding the title. The corners and edges of the cover are bumped and there are some marks, with minor water staining. There is a little foxing developing but the text block is clean and tight, and there are monochrome illustrations throughout. This volume covers elements of the household - such as recipes of the era, how clothes should be laundered, keeping poultry, producing dairy products for sale, and maintaining a garden.
