Small pocket-size book. Green cloth covered boards with bevel edges. On the front is the title in gold text and a drawing of a draughs board in black and gold,with pictures of draughts pieces in black, all enclosed in double ruled margins. The spine also has the book details in gold text with drawings of draughts pieces in black. Externally the book is discoloured with exposure with several marks and stains.

The front hinge is a little loose, but still well connected to the binding. The first gathering is also quite loose and in danger of separating from the binding.

There is an inscription on the second front endpaper dated "Xmas 1918".

All pages are very brown with age and there is some foxing.
