Former library copy with stamps etc. Wear to edges of cover, particularly on corners. Old label on top left corner of front cover. Some marks to edge of inside cover and half-title page.

"The Epinal glossary, Latin and Old-English of the Eighth Century. Photo-Lithographed from the Original MS. by W. Griggs, and Edited, with Transliteration, Introduction, and Notes, by Henry Sweet." In 1879 the author obtained a copy of the Epinal manuscript for his work on the 'Oldest English Texts'. After reading a paper at the Philological Society, an interest was expressed in having the entire manuscript facsimiled before its return to France.
