A collection of modern short stories, edited by Elizabeth Bowen, includes stories by; A.E. Coppard, E.M. Forster, Aldous Huxley, James Joyce and D.H. Lawrence. Contains what may be the first printed appearance of The Orchards" by Dylan Thomas.

Dust jacket worn and faded with sight damage to top and bottom, and brown stain on back. Spine is significantly faded, some damage to top of spine. Edges of inner jacket are clipped but price is still on which suggests this is as published. Red boards with gilt lettering. Faded green dye on top edge of pages, also some foxing on edges. Pages are in very good condition, aside from some stains on front and back pages. Overall a sturdy copy.
