Publisher: Printed for Verner and Hood, Poultry and Longman and Rees, Paternoster Row by James Swain, Angel Street, Newgate Street, 1803, 7th edition. Hardback, 104 pages, illustrated with charming b&w engravings by Thomas Bewick. Cover, full leather with brown marbled calf boards and dark brown leather spine with gilt titling and gilt decorations and with gilt decorative edges to boards, is in decent, attractive and clean condition commensurate with age with a little rubbing to edges and light bumping to corners. Front board is partially detached. Internally the book is in good, clean and tight condition commensurate with age with lightly tanned but clear text pages and illustrations, a little foxing here and there, a neat inscription on ffep ( the lower half of which has been neatly excised) and no tears or significant creases or marks. A lovely little book of charming rural poetry (divided into four parts for each of the seasons) with a preface and a number of charming engravings both full page and as header vignette illustrations for each of the four parts.
