Published in 1876 by Longmans, Green, and Co. Containing a fold out coloured map and 28 woodcut illustrations, clearly laid out with comprehensive information this a detailed reference book. It also has a useful index.

Clearly a well read book, the covers have a fair amount of wear, particularly on the spine strip, which is becoming split from the front and rear boards.. The first couple of pages have come detached, but are still present. There is also some splitting to the binding edge at the front a rear. Some light foxing. However the contents are all complete and other than the damage mentioned the rest of the book is in decent condition with secure binding.
