Publisher: Macmillan & Co, London 1933. Hardback, blue calf boards, in slipcase, 524 pages. Gilt page block edges. Marbled end-papers. Cover, in blue figured calf boards with gilt titling to spine and gilt decoration to front and spine. is in very good condition commensurate with age with slight fading to spine and a couple of very small scuffs. Internally, the book is in very good, clean, bright and tight condition. Previous owners attractive bookplate on front endpaper and also an attractive paste-down dedication label opposite half-title page 'To Wendy from Cousin Lily Xmas /36'. Lovely gilt page block edges. Neat underline on page 367. The blue, patterned slipcase is in fair and complete condition for its age with some shelfwear, some fading at opening edge and a little splitting at bottom of opening edge (but doing its job of protecting the lovely book very well!). Wonderful selection of the best songs and lyrical poems in the English language, arranged with notes.
