Product description

Four volume set, published 1895 (1st thus)of the translation made by Thomas Shelton 1612-1620. With an introduction by Justin Huntly McCarthy, and illustrations by Frank Brangwyn, this is one of a limited edition of 1,500 copies. Maroon cloth boards, with a title panel in maroon, gold and black on the front board, and gilt titling to the spine. The spines are faded, with some light wear to the extremities, and also to the corners. Upper page edges are gilt, other page edges are uncut. Some light foxing/staining to endpapers. Front hinge of each volume has a slight crack (ranging between 10 and 50mm). In very good condition overall.
