Publisher: Masters and Co, 1885, 6th edition. Hardback, 160 pages plus 40 pages publishers List of Books. Charming b&w chapter heading illustrations. Pictorial cover, in dark red / brown embossed cloth with gilt titling and decorations to spine and front, is in decent condition commensurate with age with a little chipping to spine extremities, a little fading to spine and some light shelfwear. Internally the book is in fair condition for its age with generally clean pages and illustrations and generally firm binding except for looseness /partial separation at front hinge (exposing webbing) and beginnings of separation at pages 1, 32, 65 and 112. Front flyleaf and half-title page missing. Light tanning to pages and light foxing to endpapers. Some cellotape marks and small cellotape repairs in ten places in the book and page 59 has been neatly cut across top right corner. Interesting 40 page List of Books at end of book. Overall this is a fair copy, for its age, of a scarce and charming little book with a few faults as mentioned above.
