Publisher: MacMillan & Co Ltd, London & New York, 1903. Hardback, 83 pages, attractive red and gilt illus cover and 9 full page illustrations by Henry Holiday. Gilt page-block edges. No dustjacket. Cover, in red cloth covers with gilt titling to spine and very attractive gilt illustrations to front and rear boards, is in decent, clean condition commensurate with age with a little light rubbing to edges, slight fading to spine, a little fraying at top and bottom of spine and a couple of faint marks on front and back. Internally the book is in generally good, clean condition commensurate with age with firm binding and bright text pages and illustrations. Pages are lightly tanned and there is a little foxing to endpapers and here and there in the book. Small tear at top of rear endpaper. Neat pen inscription on front endpaper. Overall a delightful copy of this lovely 1903 illustrated edition of Lewis Carroll's famous nonsense narrative poem (sub-titled 'An Agony in Eight Fits')
